The Divorcee's Song
Stifled
no longer in
constant companionship
with one who needs never-ending
control
Freedom
is not quite free
the price is loneliness
constant responsibilities
waiting
But then,
the joy of life
the chances you can take
without one hovering about
remains
Singing
into the dark
brightens the night's silence
lures other joyful hearts to share
your time
Writing
your own ticket:
Wink at pessimism.
Decorate your life with courage!
You're home.
