A Lingering Softness
Lost cat-
filtered sunlight
warms the old rocking chair.
Cat hairs still coat her lap. She strokes
the fur.
Alzheimer's
His speech-
word salad sounds;
and yet betwixt random
lines of haiku, he's crying out
for love.
Back Porch Promises
Back porch-
the old swing creaks
under weeping willows,
lit by moonlight, with promises-
of love.
Repotting My Poetry
growing
cinquain out of
haiku seeds. they blossom
into full bloom freed at last from
small pots
