Chaco By Moonlight
Ghost roads
scar this canyon:
ancestral mystery
cut deeper than words through the earth's
mute flesh
vacant
as space between stellar beacons
signal fires kindled for
a pilgrimage
of dust.
Last Crescent
Thoth moon
ibis beak pared
down to a writing reed
dip yourself deep into midnight's
black truth
resurrect every hieroglyph
unspoken beloved
Name of a heart
now lost.
Dusk Wings
Riddle
of the sphinx moth:
how old-fashioned iris
lingers as the signature of
twilight.
