outside my kitchen window
above
the neighbor's roof
just beneath the storm-cleansed
sky, alongside a crippled palm
the moon
fall storm
rained in
she took boxes
string, tape, and crayons to
create a stage for Hawaiian
lu'aus
giggling
mom and daughter swing their hips off
rhythm with a spring storm
singing slightly
off-key
