High Sierra
Lofty
mountain perches
Sierra Nevada
blanketed by the wisp of clouds
stone dreams
firs point
like green fingers
painted sunny yellow
roots buried deep in fertile earth
life thrives
azure
an icy tarn
lies in a granite cirque
Cobalt lake a reflection of
heaven
