The Plight of The Pond
the sky
has skimmed the pond and washed over
the stars, turning them all
to deeper blue
heavens
the pond
is lonely, touched
only on the surface
by clouds that always seem to drift
away.
American Beauty
Dark rose --
although your life
is brief the afternoon
has faded eclipsing you by
hours.
Red on Red
By the
tubular bloom
of a red trumpet vine
a ruby-throated hummingbird
hovers.
