Shattered Dreams
Broken
dishes litter
the floor as voices rise.
Cups and saucers breaking, our lives
shattered.
Songs of the Siuslaw
Whispers
weave through old growth,
words carried on the wings
of thought - the breath of ancient souls
muted.
(Siuslaw - pronounced Si-yew-sa-la, Southern Oregon tribe.)
