Frost Moon
Through light
and gauzy clouds,
the moon is a rare pearl,
drifting in a powder halo
alone,
having lifted the darkened sky
to a wash of pale grey
blended into
shadow.
An Early Northern Snow
Windblown
a black raven
shakes off glistening snow
from his once-white feathers and flies
away.
