AMAZE

Holly Erickson

Dawn

Faint light
glows on the edge
of royal blue, a fault
in the eggshell of night as day
is hatched.

Dandelion

Einstein,
static-infused
hair standing on end, a
halo gleams above you in the
sunlight.

Goodbye

Father
I wanted to
call you before you died,
but so much silence piles up like
old snow.

Grandma

Silent
she lies curled up
like a small broken bird
suddenly so delicate and
fragile.
