AMAZE

Cherie Hunter Day

Pablo Neruda

Plain words
are translated
one slow tongue at a time—
silence, and a sunken song comes
leaping.

Ritual of Tea

Two teas:
yours with sugar,
mine steeped long and bitter.
The code of our conversation
begins.

Song

Tangle
in sparrows' nests
where grace enters the weave—
the imperative for more joy,
for prayer.
