AMAZE

Deborah Beachboard

Goldfinch

plumed gems
flit and flutter
from whitest Queen Anne's Lace
to purple thistledown, roadside
treasure

Transition

Only
now around you
does my heart beat faster.
Only around you does my heart
now beat.

Friday the 13th

I'm not
superstitious,
no black cats or broken
mirrors and spilt salt to scare me
witless.

Heart Song

dulcet
voices mingle
and combine, merge and mix
in a melody only two
can hear

Late September Morning

The moon
is shy and hides
behind a gauzy cloud,
but blue sky is bold and sees it
half-full.
