courting,
Great-grandmother
always carried hat pins
for the boy who got fresh in their
stagecoach

     

Sixteen—
our muffled love
in your parent's cellar
that squeaky stair, our first warning...
sweet sin!

     

frog-like
lap after lap,
her sure and supple strokes
under a wired-glass skylight...
steaming
