AMAZE

Ann K. Schwader

Apparition

ghost moon
shrouded silver
just glimpsed between twistings
of windwracked branches transfixes
my soul

Burqa Mirage

What ghosts
are these drifting
through sunlit dust ruins...
silent blue shadows of women
denied?

Options

blade's edge
bitter sharp &
mirror clear beckoning
oh so close to mocking pulse point
options

Circle of Light

solstice
last light rasping
slow down some infinite
dark maw sparks echoes...rekindles
the sun

Equinox

raven's
raw soul rasping
tips the brittle balance
first frost / leaf pyres / bleeding sunset
last breath

leaf by yellow leaf

sticky
notes littering
September calendar
skies with crisp memos: memento
mori

                    Published in Scavenger's Newsletter, 2000.

At the Last Dawn

shadows
unstick themselves
flicked off like ashes from
flashfevered skeleton kindling
sunrise
