AMAZE

Deborah P. Kolodji

Covered Bridge

Spanning
New England dreams,
vacations in Vermont—
I cross the stream of memories
again.

San Andreas

Our faults
are on the map
for all to analyze.
Yet, when the shaking starts we still
tremble.

The Rain Inside Us

Shining
oblivious
to the skyline changes
the sun rises as if nothing
happened.

Published in "Voices Rise From Rubble", a special 9/11 issue of Poetic Voices webzine.

Spring Heralds

Pinwheels
in my garden,
yellow early warnings—
daffodils nodding in the cold,
warming.

Published in Templar Phoenix, Vol 3, No 1, 2002.

Virtual Racket

Slamming
e-mail volleys
crashing into the Net
as he fails to score a real life.
Love-Love.

Published in Templar Phoenix, Vol 2, No 1, 2001.

Swallowing Courage

Peering
out in darkness,
fear gnawing my insides
I wish I had Popeye's spinach
to eat.

Published in Sol Magazine, Oct 2001.
