AMAZE
Duane Ackerson

Star Twinkle

The stars
each balance on
a single lengthy leg
that shakes like arthritis crossing
the sky.

Lost Leaves

In fall,
the birds gather
souls off skeletal limbs,
weaving all our losses into
their songs.
