AMAZE
Hortensia Anderson

In The Garden Of Lilacs
(a crown cinquain)

Sunset
in the garden
of lilacs from pale blue
to deepest purple and pure pearl
moonrise.

How you
loved to gather
great armfuls of lilacs
in silver pails rain-drenched in such
sweetness.

How you
loaded lilacs
onto the wheelbarrow
with some, stuck in the spokes, oozing
softness.

Without
knowing, I cut
branches lush with blossoms
until twilight danced with soft, sweet
darkness.

And so,
the silver pails
dropped their stray petals through
wheelbarrow spokes yet another
season.
