AMAZE
Rachel Penn

Migration through North Louisiana

Egrets
drift down, resting
on the old iron bridge.
Ahead of winter's cold, snow comes
on wings.

Washday

Laundry
on the clothesline,
spring breeze through the window.
The kitchen smells of lilacs, soap
and rain.
