In the swirling sand I saw a small boy reading from a book with
pages dipped in hibiscus tea, the stains spread and elephants kneeled on
wrinkled knees.
Ashes
and snow ignite
verbs through the desert. Monks
flip vowels and pachyderms press
pages.
