Actaeon's
Eyes
My hunt
almost over -
the hounds closing fast now,
this mighty stag heart near bursting,
I turn
and face
the last breath of my punishment -
when you bathe, forever
feel my hot eyes
watching . . .
A Boy and His Rocking Horse
Wild eyed,
he rides his mount
deep into the dark night -
forever chasing another
winner . . .
* The Rocking-Horse Winner: D.H. Lawrence
Bloodstone
Someday,
paint me blood-red -
a flaming sun mirrored
in deep jade seas ... then hear my heart
thunder.
