AMAZE
Paul Ingrassia

Pegasus

Swift blade
of Perseus
stills the Gorgon's fierce scowl;
white maned, equine muscles ripple
at birth.

Upon
Mount Helicon
dancing wild with Muses,
prancing across cobalt skyscape,
footloose.

Tamed by
Bellerophon,
rearing, the mortal thrown,
a hero's arrogance cast down
to Earth.

Bearer
of thunderbolts,
loyal, faithful servant,
forever honored in the stars,
the sky.
